Everyone likes stuffed peppers, so try this one on your family.
Ingredients:
- 4 – 5 large green peppers
- 1 pound ground chuck
- 3/4 cup bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Romano cheese
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1/2 teaspoon chopped parsley
Wash peppers well and cut a slice from the stem end, remove seeds and membrane. Combine remaining ingredients and stuff peppers with meat mixture. Place peppers in a baking pan, foil pan or double thickness of heavy-duty foil. Top peppers with remaining tomato sauce and place on smoker grid to water-smoke.
Charcoal: Use 5 pounds charcoal, 3 quarts hot water, 1 wood stick and smoke 1 ½ – 2 hours.
Electric: Use 2 quarts hot water, 1 wood stick and smoke 1 ½ – 2 hours.
